Proud Sponsors of The Arctic Challenge!
In one of the most hostile places on the planet, a Dubai-based trio will attempt to row unassisted across the Arctic Ocean.
WKC, one of the UAE’s most established, pureplay environmental consultancy firms, are proud to be a sponsor of this record-breaking endeavour. As a key sponsor, WKC are currently working closely with The Arctic Challenge team and exploring different environmental data collection possibilities.
The mission to inspire a generation and raise awareness of the fragility of our planet’s wonderful ecosystems has also been a key factor in deciding to become an official sponsor of the record-breaking project.
The team will start their journey in the Arctic Circle city of Tromsø, Norway in July. In their specially crafted vessel known as ‘Ocean Guardian’, they will row north across the tumultuous ‘devils dancefloor’, staying east of Bear Island – before heading north-west across the open Arctic ocean, towards the Arctic iceshelf.
The team will eventually land in Longyearbyen in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard – a place so cold, individuals are legally required to carry a source of heat and where there are more polar bears than people!
