WKC has delivered environmental studies all across KSA, within the Royal Commission (RC), National Centre for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) jurisdictions. Services rendered include preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Permit Application Packages (PAPs), undertaking technical studies such as Air Dispersion Modelling (ADM) and Noise Modelling Studies, conducting terrestrial ecology and noise baseline surveys.

Jazan Economic City (JEC) Concept Master Plan Environmental Studies

The development of JEC is an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s strategic growth and development programme, aimed at creating sustainable employment opportunities and increasing levels of investment within the Kingdom. WKC led a strategically focused environmental assessment of the Master Plan, as well as detailed EIAs for early infrastructure projects (including Sewage Treatment and Desalination Plants).

Imam Turki Bin Abdulla (ITBA) Nature Reserve Terrestrial Ecology Baseline Surveys and Advisory Support

A terrestrial ecology baseline survey was undertaken by WKC for the ITBA Royal Nature Reserve located mainly in the Hail and Northern Borders Provinces, KSA. The purpose of the study was to confirm the ecological features of the site including identifying any valuable habitats or species. Observations during the field surveys have highlighted the rich biodiversity that is supported by the dense woodlands within the wadi beds that emanates from the north bisecting most of the Taysiyah area.

Project NEOM Masterplan Impact Assessments

NEOM is one of the flagship development Projects of Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision – A strategic plan to diversify the country’s economy through developing new sectors such as tourism, health, and recreation. NEOM is a smart city which will comprise of cultural attractions, residential areas and sports facilities. WKC’s role in the Project, has been to conduct environmental assessments for construction areas, access roads, dual carriageway expansions and aircraft movements. These specialist assessments included air quality, noise and ecology.

DG I (Bujairi, Samhan and Wadi Hanifah) and DG II Masterplan Environmental Studies and Surveys

The vision was to transform the historic site of Ad Diriyah in Riyadh into an iconic and world class destination, while preserving and celebrating the historical value of the area. Diriyah Gate will be a mixed-use project, comprising of entertainment, commercial, residential, and historic elements. The Bujairi and Samhan districts are to be developed for leisure, recreational and residential purposes. Wadi Hanifah will be preserved and protected as a wadi, as such, no development is expected in this area. DG II comprises of a Grand Central Boulevard, five iconic assets and engaging land uses for residents and visitors and is a less sensitive heritage site when compared to the Western Precinct.

Petro Rabigh Phase II Expansion ESIA

WKC conducted three EIA processes and produced three individual EIA reports in accordance with PRC company standards on EIA and the Project Environmental Design Basis which included consideration of best ESIA practice as set out in the International Finance Corporation Performance Standard No 1.
