Environmental Consultancy UAE
WKC has been involved as an environmental consultant in interesting projects in UAE, which included EIA/SEA, technical environmental surveys, environmental modelling, site supervision and auditing.
WKC Group has operated in Abu Dhabi since 2009, with the Dubai office being established in 2015. In addition to our “Class A” EAD (Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi), DM-ED (Dubai Municipality Environment Department) and ADNOC registrations, WKC is now also certified with EPDA – Ras Al Khaimah as a “Category A” registration.
Flagship Projects in the UAE
Our carefully selected team comprises of a range of consultants, engineers and administrative staff who seamlessly work together to ensure our strong presence in the region. Our team members have all been involved with flagship and mega projects in the UAE.
Al Jubail Island Masterplan Development
Our initial role on the Project was to conduct an environmental feasibility study to determine the natural constraints of the Project. This then developed into a strategic environmental assessment of the entire island with a number of baseline environmental surveys including; mangrove, avifauna, marine and terrestrial ecology surveys, soil, and long term air quality and noise surveys.
Rahman Island Masterplan Development
Our team conducted a strategic assessment of the entire island with a number of baseline environmental surveys including; mangrove, avifauna, marine and terrestrial ecology surveys, soil, long term air and noise surveys and hydrodynamic modelling to ensure adequate flushing.
Hassyan Lagoon Environmental Monitoring
The Jebel Ali (Hassyan) Intertidal Lagoon is located along the Jebel Ali coastal area near the boundary of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). WKC were contracted to undertake a monthly survey of the marine intertidal environment surrounding site to ascertain the current condition of the ecosystems and the biodiversity present.
Regional Modelling of Meteorology and Radioactive Nuclide Fallout over the Gulf
On behalf of Abu Dhabi Government department, WKC undertook a detailed meteorological and air dispersion modelling study in order to determine the potential impact from a hypothetical release of radionuclides into the atmosphere on particular assets throughout the UAE. The study involved a detailed research phase during which time various long-range modelling systems were appraised and compared (such as CALPUFF, HYSPLIT and FLEXPART).
Abu Dhabi to Dubai Highway Project
WKC undertook an extensive noise mapping study (using SoundPLAN) for the proposed new highway linking the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, a significant and important transportation infrastructure Project in the UAE. In addition to the modelling and mapping exercise, WKC undertook extensive, long-term noise baseline measurements to act as a reference point for the predictive modelling studies. All studies were undertaken in accordance with EAD, DM and international guidelines and procedures.
